The Shiv Sena’s been hogging media attention attacking a variety of popular figures, first Mukesh Ambani and now Shah Rukh and Aamir. So how come no one’s saying anything back?

Mukesh Ambani has come in the firing line of  Sena chief Bal Thackeray as he has come down heavily on  Mukesh Ambani over his recent comment that Mumbai belongs to all Indians. “Marathi people have as much right over Mumbai as Mukesh Ambani has over Reliance companies,” Thackeray wrote in an article published in ‘Saamana.’ “Mumbai is Maharashtra’s capital and will remain its capital. Don’t meddle in the path of Mumbai and Marathi manoos ,” he warned. Thackeray argued, “When ‘Pandit Mukesh Ambani’ says Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi belong to all Indians, why has he left out cities likes Ahmedabad, Jamnagar and Rajkot”. Mukesh Ambani had recently said that the knowledge of Marathi mandatory for issuing taxi permits in Mumbai was ‘unfortunate’ and the metropolis belongs to all Indians. “We are all Indians first. Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi belong to all Indians. That is the reality,” he had said.

In the light of this latest showdown, we couldn’t help but wonder. Here’s some food for thought!

As we celebrate 60 years of being a Republic, crapping in the open is still a freedom widely available to all of us. Thank God!

Horn OK Please follows a monotonous day in the life of an Indian taxi driver named Lucky. Lucky’s goal is to earn enough rupees to buy the air-conditioned taxi of his dreams. Directed by Joel Simon from Belfast, Horn OK Please is a creative collaboration between animators from India and Northern Ireland. This film is combination of stop-motion (clay) models and drawn, composited backgrounds. This multigraphic short has earned it’s share of awards as well, with laurels at the 24FPS Festival,  the FICCI BAF Awards, the ECU Festival in Paris, the French Cine Jeunes de L’Aisne 2006, the Irish Film and Television Awards and the London-based  Satyajit Ray Film Awards. And that’s just to name a few.
