This is the short film that Wes Anderson made as a prologue to The Darjeeling Limited and explains why Jack Whitman, played by Jason Schwartzman in the movie, is on such a downer through out the movie. Hotel Chevalier introduces us to Jack in a hotel in Paris and his last encounter with ex-girlfriend, the very delectable Natalie Portman. While this short is quite the mindfuck in itself, the movie, which follows Jack and his two brothers (Owen Wilson and Adrian Brody) on a mission to find their mother in India, is the craziest Hollywood travelogue we have seen our motherland.
